800th Anniversary of Medical Education in Turkey
In the Sifahiye of Gevher Nesibe and the Madrasa, Seljuk's ruler Alaeddin Keykubat's health minister; Ekmeleddin was the most important instructor. Amongst the famous and the most important Turkish doctors; Ebubekir, Gazanferi, Ali Sinasi, Ebu Salim Ibni Kuraba, Yakubi, Sucauddin Ali Bin Ebu Tahir, Seyit Samet were educated here and then were appointed as instructors in the Madrasa of Gevher Nesibe.
The Twin Madrasa is the eleventh biggest hospital which was built by Turks, also it is also the fifth biggest one in Anatolia. This Sifahane was the first and the oldest where medical education was instructed. The medical complex of Gevher Nesibe is supposed to be the first actual medical institution in the world, because of it's architectural structure and medical education.
