Panthera pardus tulliana The Anatolian Leopard is distinguished as a subspecies based on the large size of some speciments in Anatolia exceeding 100 kgs in weight and reaching 2.5 meters in length. The Anatolian Leopard ( Panthera pardus tulliana) is avery rare large cat species, the last strongholds of its population are highly vulnerable. Several leopard sightings have been reported by local people from Turkish Mountains, but there is no clear evidence of its existence. The IUCN estimated 23 leopards left in Anatolia in 1978.
